Gli isolanti a pannelli, per quanto accurata sia la loro posa in opera, creano inevitabilmente delle \u201cfughe\u201d, causate sia dalla difficolt\u00e0 di inserirli perfettamente tra le strutture della costruzione (travi, listelli, impianti elettrici, ecc.) sia dalla dilatazione termica dei pannelli stessi. Se attraverso queste fughe l\u00b4aria riesce a penetrare e ancor peggio a circolare, l\u00b4effetto isolante viene vanificato quasi completamente. L&#8217;aria, ancora presente negli interstizi dell\u00b4isolamento, deve quantomeno stare ferma. Appena si crea una circolazione d\u00b4aria, (per esempio anche nei tetti ventilati se la ventilazione \u00e8 eccessiva e non correttamente dimensionata) l&#8217;effetto isolante diminuisce drasticamente.<\/p>\n<p><strong>La fibra di cellulosa, essendo insufflata a pressione, garantisce un&#8217;ottimale tenuta all&#8217;aria ed al vento.<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Grazie al&#8217;insufflaggio sotto pressione, le fibre riempiono qualsiasi interstizio della costruzione, impedendo al vento ogni via di entrata.<br \/>\n2. Il materiale \u00e8 cos\u00ec elastico che si adatta anche ai movimenti della costruzione, soprattutto se essa \u00e8 in legno: non si possono pi\u00f9 creare spazi vuoti.<br \/>\nDurante l\u00b4 effettuazione di un test pratico attuato nell&#8217;inverno 1989-1990 dalla Universit\u00e0 del Colorado, sono stati costruiti due identici edifici in legno. L&#8217;edificio A era isolato con fibra di cellulosa mentre l&#8217;edificio B con lana minerale (valore K dei muri 0,26 &#8211; valore K dei soffitti 0,17).<br \/>\nGli edifici sono stati riscaldati per un lungo periodo.<br \/>\nRisultato: l&#8217;edificio isolato con la fibra di cellulosa aveva un consumo di energia pari al <strong>26,4%<\/strong> in meno rispetto all&#8217;edificio comparato. Gli studiosi hanno ricondotto questo notevole risultato alla migliore resistenza al vento della fibra di cellulosa.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row type=&#8221;in_container&#8221; full_screen_row_position=&#8221;middle&#8221;
