Thermal insulation in the attic – Masonry and board insulation – Attic insulation with Biosfloor 2026
Our Biosfloor insulation granulate is ideal for thermal insulation of the top floor (attic) of your house.
Biosfloor is a completely natural granulate, simply produced by crushing volcanic rock at 1000 °C and expanding it:
there are no additives, it is rot-proof, non-flammable, impervious to insects and rodents: very important in attics/lofts.
The continuity of the insulation (avoiding the thermal bridges typical of panels that create gaps in the joints) and Biosfloor’s great transpiration prevent the typical condensation that, over time, nullifies the thermal capacity of the insulation.
Unlike any other type of insulation, this system does not require vapour brakes and can be laid from any wall.
The process consists of emptying sacks (100 litre sacks, very light: approx. 9 kg) onto the raw floor (floor of your attic) until the desired thickness is reached.
If you want to make the surface walkable, a robust ribbed cardboard with pre-prepared adhesive overlaps, 5mm thick, is placed on top of the granulate.
The simplest and most economical solution is to distribute the insulation by simply emptying the bags and levelling out the granulate with a ruler/stick.
The very low cost of Biosfloor insulation makes it possible to achieve substantial thicknesses and considerable levels of insulation.
Thermal insulation characteristics of the roof/attic
10 cm of Biosfloor + Thermo Rp
U Therm = 0.34 W/m²K
15 cm of Biosfloor + Thermo Rp
U Therm = 0.25 W/m²K
20 cm of Biosfloor + Thermo Rp
U Therm = 0.20 W/m²K
